Peanut butter has gotten a bad reputation in recent years. At first, it was touted as a healthy food, but then its fat and calorie count was too high to be healthy. Then we hear that adding nuts to your diet decreases heart disease in spite of the extra calories.

Now studies at the Institute of Food Technologies has confirmed that the processes used in making and packaging peanut butter don't significantly reduce the positive effects of eating raw peanuts. It was shown that peanut butter has the same vitamin E content as raw peanuts. So it seems that peanut butter is back on the list of good things to eat to help prevent heart disease.
